New Trampoline

We got a trampoline for the boys. They love it. These are a few of the pictures of them playing on it. I love how dirty Andrew and Jacks faces are. Lately Andrews face looks like this at the end of the day. I guess that means he has been playing hard (or I need to clean the house better).

I've been working on getting a Etsy store opened. I'll be selling hair bows/pins, and jewelry/charm bracelets. I'm pretty stoked about the whole thing. Tomorrow I'm taking pictures of women modeling my products, and then I just need to get photos edited and loaded into my store. :) http://www.etsy.com/people/AnythingArtsy
I'm also getting a fireside/seminar organized for women. I'm super super stoked about that. I want to share the things I've learned over the past year. I want women to feel powerful in their lives no matter what they are dealing with.
Next class is medical terminology starts in March.

Bones and Rocks

Yesterday I picked Tyler up from school. As we were walking to the car he tells me that at lunch there were bones in his turkey. I'm thinking gross. He tells me how he saved them to give to Mike and me. We get in the car and Tyler excitedly shows me his bag of bones. The bones are chicken wing bones, gross gross gross. He thinks they are so cool. Boys!
Last night Jack had a nightmare. He told me he had a dream where the people were collecting little rocks, the rocks were turning into monsters. Rocks that turn into monsters?
Everyday they say or do something funny. Love my rascals.

Furniture Face Lift

Lately I have been in love with the idea of refinishing furniture. I love finding something that is out of date or run down and making it into something new. With a little bit of paint a treasure is found. I found this little console cabinet on Craigs list for a steal of a deal and had to have it. Mike was not too trilled with my find, but it was worth the golf net in my living room. ;). I'm working on a chair I found at good will for a dollar. Post pictures when I'm finished.

Mommy Moment

Over Christmas break I had a moment, where I stopped and realized my boys are growing up. The boys got some books out for me to read to them. I was busy and told them to look at them while they waited for me. Tyler started reading to Jack, it was so sweet. Definitely a mommy moment.

Over Christmas break we moved into our new place. I love the house and the yard. I really miss my old friends and neighbors though. Tukee people will be hard to top. Hopefully our ward will be great we will see Sunday. Last week we went to the wrong ward because of the time change (lots of old people not a lot of kids :( ). Tyler is liking school so far, I really like his new teacher she seems really nice and on the ball. He no longer wants to ride the bus. He wants me to drive him to school......not happening on a regular basis but maybe occasionally. My anatomy final is next week, I can't wait to get it finished. School has been stressing me out BIG time. I'm not ready for Algebra, but that's what is next on the agenda, booooo. Hopefully I don't have mental breakdown, I feel like there is a possibility. Its been a stressful year.

Well hello everyone. Its been a long time since I posted anything. Life has been happening and I have not cared to share it unless I wanted to talk to you in that case I called. We are all doing good. I have learned a TON about myself and my little family. I did the Landmark Forum, which was amazing and inspiring. I'm still learning from it. I'm working on my photography. I'm going back to school, and I'm enjoying life.

Tyler started 1st grade and is doing good, he doesn't really like reading which has made school challenging. Jack is in preschool and seems to like being home better. Andrew is getting smarter every day. He is talking and repeating things we say. He loves giving high fives and knuckles. We started going camping as a family which has been great. I love getting away from phx for the weekend and just being together. I think we are heading to Tombstone this weekend. Can't wait to take some pics and try out editing in HDR. Well hope all is well with you see you in a few months.;)

Az Botanical Gardens

Last week we went to the Desert Botanical Gardens for our Joy school field trip. It was fun and beautiful many of the cacti were in bloom. It was nice to get outdoors and enjoy nature. We all had a great time. I think Grandma Sus would love this place, we will have to go here when she comes to visit again. Pictures of the flowers and cacti on my photo blog.

Perhaps I'm not the only mother and wife who feels like life and all I do is for them. I sometimes wonder what the real purpose of being in these relationships is. I often feel like I have lost myself in the constant need of others, it is exhausting. There so much to learn so much to go through. Perhaps the real meaning in life, is to learn from our families how to be more like Christ, learn to see others as he sees them, learn to love regardless of other choices, learn to be unselfish. I have a lot to figure out, just feel like I need to catch my breath and take a moment. I'm thankful for the constance of the gospel in my life, for the guidance and solid foundation it gives me. If nothing else I know God lives that I am his child and he loves me and has a plan for me.

My Birthday and Spring Break

It has been a fun filled week Tyler is on spring break so we have been playing hard this week. We headed for the mountains on Tuesday and Wednesday. Melinda was kind enough to let us stay with her up in Crown King. The weather was perfect the company wonderful and location fantastic. The boys had a great time playing with their buddy Cara, they played in the creek and explored around the house. I enjoyed being out in nature it was nice to just relax and listen to the wind blow through the trees. I need to get out in nature more. Anyways here are some pics I took of the boys I'll post the more artsy nature ones on my photo blog. (I have more to edit so here is what I have for now.)

First Birthday

Last week Andrew turned one year old. I can't believe how fast this year has gone by. Andrew has been such a joy to have in our family. He has a cute sweet personality. Andrew loves to get into things, pots and pans the laundry, clothes drawers, dishwasher....pulling everything out and making a mess is one of his favorite things to do. Andrew also loves to climb, he loves the stairs and cruises up them as fast as he can so I can't catch him. A few weeks ago Andrew even climbed up on his brothers bunk bed ladder. Andrew loves the toilet and any water he can get into, splashing seems to be a fun thing to do. Toilet paper is another fun thing for Andrew he unrolls it as fast as he can and then eats it. I found him in a pile of wipes one day, he had pulled the entire box of wipes out, and just sat in the middle of them playing. Tyler and Jack are definitely Andrews favorite people, he loves his brothers and gets so excited when they give him attention. He loves wrestling with them, and playing peekaboo. Andrew is cautious when it comes to food (must be a Lauricella) he puts things in his mouth and then spits them out, I don't know how he is still alive (picky thing), I guess it is because he loves his bottle. Andrew is a pro crawler, and cruiser, he has taken a few steps on his own and was proud of himself. We love our little trouble maker, and are so glad he is part of our family, he keeps things exciting.

G & G H and New Shower

My parents came to visit us last week. I talked my dad into bringing his tools. I put him to work. The shower in our bedroom has been falling apart for a long time, the door no longer shut, and the coriane was pulling away from the wall on one of the sides. My dad is talented when it comes to home repair projects, so I knew he could handle this one. The shower turned out fantastic!! I love it! thanks dad.

Runner?

Last Saturday I ran my first ever 10K (6 miles) race. It was a great experience and I'm glad my friend JoEllen talked me into it. I'm not what you would call a runner, in fact I have a hard time getting myself motivated in the running department. It has been therapeutic though, I can see why people like it. While running the race I even had some great insightful moments (almost spiritual). My fantastic friend Melinda came out to support me and watch my boys while I ran, it was nice to have a cheerleader. I finished 314th out of 615 people, I ran 10 min. miles and finished the race in 1 hr and 3 minutes.
I'm not sure if I'm done racing, guess it depends on my knees. 1/2 marathon?
Really I'm just glad it wasn't a repeat of my 5k from high school.

Swimming??

That is right, we have gone swimming three times already. Last week the weather was wonderful, so I took the boys to the community pool (it is heated) they swam and had a fantastic time. Jack asks me if we can go to the pool almost every day now. Andrew loves it too, he plays in the dirt and tries to eat the rocks. It is nice to be outside in the sunshine.

Fire Station

This month our joy school field trip was to the Fire Station. We all had a great time. JoEllen dressed up in fireman gear to show the boys what a fireman would look like if he were saving you in a fire. We went for a ride around the block in the fire truck, and we got to spray the fire hose. I think everyone had a great time including the moms.

Crazy Cookies

The boys made cookies last week. The boy in the middle is our neighbor. Jack loved making faces in the kitchen aid bowl, funny kid.

After Christmas Tyler and Jack played nothing but GI Joes for two days straight. I guess GI Joes were a hit. Santa brought the boys scorpion suckers in their stockings, Tyler was horrified.

Holiday Happenings

Tyler and Jack saw Santa for the first time this year. It was fun to watch the boys get so excited. Tyler told him all the things he wanted for Christmas, and Jack didn't say a word.

Tyler's class had a holiday party. They made crafts, decorated cookies, played bingo, memory, and read Christmas stories. Tyler's teacher gave all the kids stuffed animals, he even gave one to Jack, which made Jack feel so special (his face was priceless).

Our Joy school party was fun (we missed Andrew L.) We made gingerbread houses, played bingo, and opened presents (books). The boys had a great time with friends.

Projects

Here are some projects I recently finished.
I started the oil painting over 6 months ago. I painted it for my mom in law, thought I better finish so I can give it to her over Thanksgiving (deadlines are good motivation for me).
The table is a sewing table I found at Goodwill only $15.00. It needed a little paint. I still need to put my machine in it.
My thankful tree was inspired by my sis in law Gina, it is an advent calendar for Thanksgiving. It is made on a magnet board, every day you put a leaf on the tree and say what you are thankful for.

I was in charge of Tyler's fall party at school. We made spiders, decorated cookies, played pass the pumpkin, pin the hat on the scare crow, and spider web toss. I think the kids all had fun, I know I did. I enjoyed getting to know the kids in Tyler's class.

Happy Halloween! Tyler was GI Joe (snake eyes) Jack was spider man and Robin, and Andrew was a pumpkin and a skeleton.

Fall Break

Well it has already been a week since fall break so I better get some pictures up before its way too late. The boys and I had a great week! Monday was a fun day at the zoo with family and friends. Tuesday and Wednesday we went up to Crown King with the Ripley's, Michelle and baby Marcelino. Thursday we took pictures of the lovely Russell girls. Friday and Saturday we went on our ward camp out. Tyler thinks Karate is so cool. He loves the Ninja Turtles, and The Karate Kid movies. When it came to picking a sport to play, of course Tyler wanted to take karate. Karate class started a few weeks ago, Tyler is loving it. On days he doesn't have karate Tyler will put on his uniform and pretend he is a ninja. Look out world I have a house full of tough guys.

Way out in the Desert

Way out in the desert where the cactus bloom and thrive lived a mother tarantula.
We saw this beauty as we were driving home from Crown King, it was crossing the road.
My friend Melinda has a house up in Crown King Arizona a tiny little town 26 miles on a dirt road. We spent our Saturday up at the Ripley's "big house". It was nice to get away from phx, and enjoy the beauty of Az. The boys enjoyed jumping on beds, playing outside, and playing game cube. I enjoyed talking with Melinda, and taking pictures. Their house is old with lots of character. The town of Crown King was a old mining town. The Ripley's have a big walk in safe that was used by the miners to lock up their gold, and precious rocks. A very cool house, with cool history. I really enjoyed the adventure. Thanks Melinda.

Lions Tigers and Bears, oh and a Elephant

Last night we went to the circus. We all had a great time. This was my first circus experience, I felt like a big kid. We saw a lion tamer, who tamed 2 tigers 1 white tiger, and 2 lions, the trapeze artists, a three ring circus with 2 jugglers, and a gymnast, camels and horses, motorcycles in the round cage, a guy who stacked and balanced on chairs and lots of clowns. the lion tamer reminded me of Hulk Hogan, maybe it was the hair.

Tyler and Jack tasted cotton candy for the first time. They LOVED it.

Jack rode the ponies, and Tyler rode on the elephant. Jack loves playing with Andrew, he always gives him lots of hugs and kisses. What a nice big brother.

Rocky Point Mexico

Tyler and Jack loved the slide they had at the resort. I think it was Jacks favorite part of the trip.

At low tide the boys and I loved looking for crabs, fish, shrimp, and any other creatures we could find. Tyler wanted to catch the fish so bad. We never caught a fish, but we did catch a few crabs. We caught one the size of my hand.

Mike took Tyler out on the wave runner. Tyler loved it he wanted to go as fast as possible, and he didn't want to stop.

We all had such a great time. The beach is so beautiful and relaxing. Absolutely one of my favorite vacations. (I can't believe it is so close to our hot home)

My boys are growing up so fast. Tyler started school last week, he loves it. Riding the bus seems to be a fun thing to do. Tyler is making friends and having fun. He likes his teacher but says he is grouchy, and needs more sleep (maybe he has me mixed up with his teacher). Tyler has also started to dive into the pool he is getting really good at it and can get things off the bottom of the pool now. Andrew has started swimming with us in the evenings, he loves the water, and kicks like a mad man. Andrew has found his feet and loves grabbing them, and putting them in his mouth. Jack is enjoying his new found freedom while Tyler is away, I think he has enjoyed being the man of the house for a few hours.

My littlest McKay boy is getting big way too FAST! Doodle Drew is going on his 6Th month now. Eating cereal, loving mashed up bananas, jumping in his bouncer, smiling whenever you give him attention, almost sitting up unassisted. Slow down dude what is the rush. My Great Escape

We just returned from visiting family and friends in Utah. It was a blast, I loved every minute of the trip, even the drive. Parades, fishing, tubing, boating, horseback riding, barbecuing, fireworks, enjoying family and friends.... Utah was a great escape from our regular lives. Thanks family, and friends for having us can't wait until next year.

My boys are growing up so fast! I think Jack learns a new trick every day, and says or does something funny.
Today Jack turns three, and I can't believe it! I feel like he was just born. Jack has charisma, and is such a little charmer. I feel bad for all the girls when he gets older (he is going to break some hearts). He loves to flirt with girls, and says "hey beautiful" with a little batting of his eyelashes. Jack likes to pretend he is a super hero and I am either wonder woman, or MJ (Mary Jane), depending on what he is playing (spider man or Justice league). Lately Jack has been waking up early he climbs in bed with us, he snuggles up and goes back to sleep in Mike's arms it is so sweet. Andrew is lucky to have Jack as a brother, Jack is always talking to him, and even shares his beloved blanket with him. We love our Jack and are so glad he is part of our family.

Weekend tradition

Every weekend Mike takes one of the boys golfing with him, usually Tyler. Jack had his turn, and was so excited. They looked so cute I needed a picture.
Andrew has found his fingers and loves sucking on them when he is sleeping (hope this isn't going to turn into an orthodontic nightmare). I took some family photos for a friend this is their cute new addition (she is only 4 wks old).

Carol & Dom visit

Grandma Carol and uncle Dom. visited us last week. It was lots of fun having them with us for a few days. Tyler loved playing with Dom., and I loved having Carol here. I really enjoy having company. We spent Thursday at Tim and Jessica's home. Jessica made the boys milk shakes (as you can see my boys loved it). Jessica is always such a great hostess, we love visiting. Nathan loves Tyler and follows him around it is really cute (similar to the way Tyler follows Dom around).

Mexico

About a week ago we went to Mexico for a quick family trip. I am ready to go back it was fantastic! The beach was beautiful, and so relaxing. Mike played in the sand with Tyler and Jack while Andrew and I just relaxed under the sun umbrella. We stayed at the Sonoran Sky resort, it was beautiful and very nice. Swimming in April

Yep that is right, it is April and we are swimming (Only in Arizona:)). Andrew had his first trip to the pool, and was really good. The weather was nice not too hot, the boys could get all wet and I could sit in a lounge chair and enjoy myself.

I can't believe my little boy is 5 years old already. Tyler has been such a joy to have as a son. He has a kind heart and a sweet sensitive spirit. Tyler is such a good big brother to Jack and Andrew, he is always helping them, and sharing with them. Tyler has been a fan of Spider man for a few years now, so for his birthday he got a Green Goblin action figure. Jack was just as excited about the new action figure as Tyler was, so needless to say Jack wanted to play with it. Tyler like the kind big brother he is let Jack have a nice long turn playing with Green Goblin ( without complaint). We love you Tyler you are so great we are glad you had a happy birthday. Thanks for the cards and phone calls Tyler loved them all.

Andrew Callan was born on Tuesday March second at 4:10pm. He was 7lbs 15oz 21in long. I gave birth naturally without any pain medication. It was an intense experience, I'm glad that I did it. Mike is the best at telling all about our labor and delivery, his perspective was a little different than mine (much more funny). Mike was a great coach and very supportive. I could not have done it without him.
After arriving home last night Tyler looked at my fat belly and said "We are having another baby?" I guess I still look pregnant. :) I will post more photos when I take some.

Today at church a boy bore his testimony that he believed in Jesus Christ. Tyler asked me "What does he mean believe in Jesus?" I replied "it means he thinks Jesus is real." Tyler very sure of himself says to me "of course Jesus is real mom." What a sweet spirit my Tyler has, he never ceases to impress me with the things he knows, and the correct feelings he has.

Snow in Arizona

We recently returned from a wonderful trip to Flagstaff Arizona. The Arizona Lauricella's joined us for some fun in the snow. The cabin we stayed at was about 7 miles south of Flagstaff, and included everything you could want for adventure in the snow. The views were breath taking and the weather was perfect. Tyler and Jessica enjoyed their first real sledding experience, I couldn't decide who enjoyed themselves more. I enjoyed the beauty of the snow as the sun created thousands of sparkles on it's surface. Jessica had never seen the sun shine on the snow creating the beautiful sparkles.
Tyler Jack, Nate, and Sam all enjoyed being together and jumping around like crazy little boys. I think this needs to be a yearly tradition. It was so nice to get out of the city, and enjoy the beauty of a winter wonderland.
I thought our neighboring cabin was very cute with its rainbow colored exterior.Jack Loved his new Spider man gloves, aunt Jessica found for him. Tyler was pretending to be a moose.

Mike just bought me a new SLR camera, and I love it! It takes such crisp clear photos. I'm still figuring out how to use it. Hopefully I will eventually get to where I can use the manual setting instead of the auto settings. Here are some pictures I took of the boys today.

My friend Heather Lewis took some maternity photos for me. I really wanted something light soft and motherly. I think she did just that, these pictures are just what I wanted. Since this will most likely be our last baby, I wanted to have something to remember pregnancy. I wanted something to help me remember the amazing moment of feeling our baby move for the first time. The tender times my two older boys kiss my stomach and tell their new sibling they love him. The way Tyler's eyes light up when he feels the baby move. I love being a mom. It is such a miracle, and intimate thing to be able to bring a child of God to earth.
We can't wait to meet our new little wonder.

I am getting fatter every day. I'm so fat that none of my belts fit me. Yesterday we stayed home from church because the boys have colds. I decided to try making me a belt. Here is the result. I think I need to make some in other colors, red & yellow would be nice.

Benefit of making a belt when your prego is you can make it smaller once you have the baby.

We went for Mike's birthday, just to torture him.

Grandma's & Grandpa's Visit

Grandma & Grandpa Harrison came to visit last weekend. We had a great time canning apples, knocking holes in closets, and camping. On Thursday we started our day off canning apples. It was lots of fun, everyone got involved and it only took us a few hours to can all the apples -- about 2 dozen jars all together. Tyler and Jack even helped out. Tyler loved using the slicer; he thought that was the coolest machine ever. After canning apples, I put Grandpa to work knocking a hole in our coat closet, which revealed additional closet space under the stair landing. We drywalled the area, installed a light, and put molding up around the opening.

Friday we went camping in Payson. Grandpa's cousin Eric Levi and his family joined us too. Camping was a little cold but we all had a great time. I don't know if my boys have ever been so dirty. We roasted hot dogs, went hiking, and fishing. Tyler's and Jack's first camping experience was great.

What's New

Mike started a new job about two weeks ago. Mike is focusing on plaintiff's class action lawsuits again. The change back to the the work he enjoys most seems to be a good one. Last weekend, we went to Scottsdale to see Mike's new office and help him hang pictures. Tyler and Jack loved playing under his desk and getting into his things.

For art class a few weeks ago, I had the students take impressions (using alginate donated by Dr. Pearson's office) of their own hands. We poured maleable plaster into the alginate casts creating a plaster hand of each student. I thought it would be fun to paint the hands creepy looking for Halloween. So we used acrylic paints, and painted spooky hands. I think my students really loved the project.

Maybe I'll take an impression of baby #3's hand when he is born. Then I will have a tiny mold of his perfect little hand.

This is my latest project. Baby #3 needed a dresser. So I've been looking for one for a few weeks. Nothing was the right color or price. I'm getting picky, and only want furniture that is solid wood, why buy something that is not going to last? Finally, I found a dresser on Craig'slist. A solid wood dresser made by Bassett for $130. Granted it was pretty old style and a ugly green color, but I sanded and painted it. Now it matches our existing bed perfectly. I couldn't be happier. I have already loaded 6 months worth of baby clothes into it

I think I might be nesting or something because I just have an itch to get things together around the house.

Spooky spooks

Well it is that time of year when the spooks come out and the kids dress up. Last weekend the boys helped me decorate our house for Halloween, we had lots of fun. The boys especially loved decorating and hanging bats from light fixtures and fans. I love Halloween , it is one of my favorite holidays. It almost feels like fall with all the decor out, it would be perfect if the it would just cool off outside. I'm so tired of this heat!

The last 2 weeks

For the last 2 weeks the boys and I have been down at the stake center painting sets for The Savior of the World production (you can purchase tickets at http://www.savioroftheworldaz.com/Home.aspx) . Thursdays I have been lucky enough to have my great art students helping me. I also have my talented friend Melinda helping as well which has been nice.

These are the steps to the temple in Jerusalem (not yet finished). There will be 5 marbled pillars on the upper level, I hope to finish marbling those tomorrow.

These are my great art students, (the kids over age of 11) they have been such a great help, hope they have learned something in the process.

Mike purchased a Harley! Still waiting for my ride, Mike said he wants to practice riding before he gives rides, probably not a bad idea. To ease my mind Mike promises to always wear a helmet ( we will see how long that lasts).

Baby 3's Sex

My cute friend Kayla is studying to be an ultrasound tech. so I volunteered to let them practice on me. I had a lot of fun and it was a nice and long ultrasound, which I loved because it never gets old looking at the cute little baby growing inside of you (it makes all the crap that goes with pregnancy worth it). I guess I won't get to decorate the guest room in purple pink orange , and giraffe print, I will have to settle for super heroes and sports again. All I can say is I am going to be the best mother in law in the whole world, cause that is the only way I will ever get a daughter. Mike really does have all boys in him. :) ha ha. Baby boy three is healthy, and a little wiggle worm, I can't wait to meet him.

Sticky Sand

Saturday was gorgeous, overcast, rainy and cool temperatures. I was in heaven, this has been the longest summer of my life. We have not left this hot dust bowl all summer long, so Saturday was heaven sent. I took the boys to the park in the rain, they loved playing outside without their swimming suites. My car and floor are still covered in sand, but who cares we spent the day outside and I didn't break a sweat.

Phoenix Children's Museum

Last week we went to the Phoenix Children's Museum with the Ryans, the day was full of fun and adventure. Tyler, Jack R. and Jack M. played so hard and had so much fun together. The museum was a so fun, three levels of non stop things for little tykes to touch and explore. I'm sure we will be back in the future.

Jack loved digging in these seeds, he played here for at least 10 minutes, until moving onto the next station.The museum has a room full of swimming noodles hanging from the ceiling, you can run, swim through them, it is so cool. Jack loved the noodles, the above picture was taken as he was running out of all the noodles.

A day well spent for sure. Both boys were tired and took afternoon naps :).

Needed a Change

Sometimes in life there are times when every woman feels like a fat cow who is obsessed with food. Well my time is now. I am only about 11-12 weeks prego, and I am already feeling fat, I guess my body knows what to do and is doing it. Last week I just needed a change so I decided to color my hair. I was tired of being a blond, and wanted to go back, or go closer to my natural color ( blond is too much maintenance). Here is the outcome, I'm happy and feel pretty.

I had a trip to the Dr's office a few weeks ago, all is well. Only one baby with a strong heart beat and a wiggly little body. Ultrasounds are the best. The due date is Feb. 28th 2010

The Test

I took the Test on Thursday, and I am the winner of...

-A new seven passenger vehicle (we found a four runner we like)

-Double D boobs for at least a year

-$5,000 in medical bills

- At least one year of sleepless nights

-The loss of sanity and brain due to feeding two

-3 months of nausea

-3-5 months of a bulging stomach

-Another 2-3 years of changing diapers

-Looking ugly for at least 4 months due to not fitting in any clothes

-Going through labor without any meds to save $1,000 plus

Am I excited? Yes. Am I ready? No (I was ready to wait another year)

Is Mike excited? surprisingly very excited.

I am praying that this is a nice little girl who never poops or cries (I know, keep dreaming)

Lauricella weekend

We had a great 4th of July weekend. Mike's family came to visit, and attend baby Sam's blessing. We all had such a great time. Thursday Mike and big Craig went golfing, while the rest of the gang went to the Oasis water park. Tyler had a great time wrestling with Dino & Dom., and Jack actually loved playing in the water (this is a first for him). Friday the Boys went golfing again, while we stayed home and started our chip board books. Tyler tortured Dom. with his constant need for a play mate. Friday night was spent with the Gilbert Lauricella clan, we had a great BBQ (Mike makes the best burgers) it was hot so swimming was in the mix. Saturday was great we went over to Tim & Jessica's for a 4th of July party/birthday celebration for Nate (he turned 2 on the 7th). Jessica had great food and the cutest cookies and cake. Tyler enjoyed helping Nate open all his presents. Sunday was Sam's baby blessing it was nice, and fun for the family to all be together.

Last week we spent Thursday up at the lake with Jessica & Nate, it was the perfect way to spend the day. We had a great time, Tyler enjoyed swimming, and making new friends with the other kids who came, Jack cried at first, but once he adjusted he too had a great time. Jack and Nate played in the sand and were very cute together. Nate is such an affectionate big brother, it is so sweet how much he loves his little Sam. Nate would just hover over him, and want to hug him all the time, so cute. I really enjoyed being out in nature, and just relaxing, I felt like I was on vacation. It was good to get away for the day.

Dr. Pearson's Pool Party

Saturday morning was Dr. Joe Pearson's annual pool party, we had a great time. It was nice to see all my old coworkers, and remember the good times I had working for Dr Pearson. The party was great and the boys were tired when we left. Friends, fun, music, prizes, mini beach balls, fake tattoos, food, the pool, what more could you ask for?

We played dodge ball with all these mini beach ball, the boys loves it. We even got to bring one home with us.

I didn't want to get my hair wet, so Dr. Joe was kind enough to take Tyler down the water slide. Tyler kept asking him to go again, I think they went 4-5 times. Tyler loved it.

Jack loved the food, the balls, and of course hated the water.

Dr. Pearson is an awsome orthodontist if anyone is in need of straight teeth.

Happy Birthday Jack

Today Jack turned two. We started the day by opening presents, Jack got a dump truck, and some action figures. I think Tyler was more excited about getting new toys then Jack. Jack seemed to really enjoy being the center of attention, he really enjoys being loved.

The family had cake and sang to Jack a few days early. Tyler and Jack picked out a Cars cake from the store. Jack loves the movie Cars, he calls it liling mqueen.

I think Jack enjoyed the cars over the cake.

Tyler enjoyed the frosting, and didn't eat his cake. Jack put his face right into the cake, I guess he didn't want to get his hands messy.

I can't believe my baby is 2 already, I feel like I just had him. Jack is such a fun little guy full of energy and love. He was never a snugly baby, but he has turned into a very snugly toddler. Yesterday I think he gave Mike about 30 kisses, back and forth from one cheek to the other.

Jack loves to read and has for as long as I can remember, I will often find him sitting down with a book in his lap soaking up the pictures.

Jack leads with his head, what I mean is he walks, runs head first, so needless to say he almost always has a bruise on his forehead.

I think Jack is a lot like Mike in many ways, he is very stubborn and determined, when he wants something he doesn't take no for an answer.

New things tend to make Jack a little nervous, he is cautious, and it takes him a while to warm up to new environments.

I love this little guy he is a sweet little mamas boy, I am so thankful he is my son. I have learned a lot from him.

Unforgettable

After finishing a baby bracelet for a baby shower I realized I had nothing to wrap it in. I remember making boxes as a child, my Grandma Harrison taught us how. I decided to give it a try, some things are like riding a bike you never forget. As I folded this box I thought about my Grandmother, what a wonderful woman full of wisdom, and experience. I am grateful for the things she has taught me, and the example she is to me. Grandma Harrison is a great story teller, and a wonderful writer. I love listening to all her life stories, it is fun to hear about the roads she has traveled in life, and the things she has experienced. It helps to give me a taste of where I come from. I love you Grandma.

Life is Just Peachy

Today the boys and I went out to Schnepf farms to pick peaches. I have been craving these Delicious babies for a few weeks now. I decided I better hurry if I wanted to grab fresh Az peaches, since peach season will be ending at the the end of the month. I was a little disappointed in the size of these peaches, (I guess I was expecting Dr. Brog's Utah peaches) but after eating a couple my disappointment disappeared. These little babies are so juicy and sweet. It was worth the long drive to get them. I will definitely pick me fresh peaches again next year.

Tyler and Jack sampled them while we picked, I think Tyler probably ate 3-4 peaches while we were picking them.

The trip tired Jack out, this picture was taken at 9:20am. (see the peach juice on his lips)

We finished off our trip out west with a visit with our new cousin Sam. Sam is so sweet and tiny, it makes me want another baby (well almost).

Yesterday we went to the zoo, the boys had a blast. I was getting a little tired of going to the zoo, so we hadn't been in a while. Jack has grown up since the last time we went, he had so much fun, and really enjoyed looking at all the animals. I asked jack what his favorite animal was, and he told me the elephant was his favorite, Tyler told me his favorite was the snakes. It's too bad its getting so hot, because I think I enjoyed going to the zoo.

I think I am spoiled. I often get caught up in what I don't have, and forget, overlook how incredibly blessed I am. Recently I have been doing a little self reflecting, and have realized that I need to do better at improving myself, and my spirituality. It seems like it is always a matter of getting back to the basics, prayer, scripture study, etc.. I have recently started reading my scripture more consistently, I am amazed at the difference this is making, and the insights I am getting into my own life and the things I can do, and need to do to improve it. I guess life is just better when we try to focus more on the spiritual and less on the worldly. A scripture I read the other day is 2 Nephi 10: 24 it reads: Wherefore, my beloved brethren, reconcile yourselves to the will of God, and not to the will of the devil and of the flesh; and remember after you are recoiled unto God, that it is only in and through the grace of God that you are saved. I don't know I guess what I'm saying is that I am grateful for the ability we all have to improve our lives, and do better no matter where we are spiritually.

Nothing too exciting to report. Here are some pictures.

I turned our fire pit into a sand box for the boys. Tyler and Jack have spent hours in it. The bath tub has been sandy ever since.

We went to the Mesa Children's Museum with Jessica and Nate, it was a great way to spend the morning. I learned some things about Nate, he is quiet, and he loves blueberries. Tyler and Jack had tons of fun running around and playing with their cousin. Tyler even took a nap when we came home.

I love it when dad reads to the boys, so cute and sweet.Jack hates to swim. When you put him in the water he cries and makes his body as stiff as a board.Tyler finished preschool last week. The class sang some songs for the parents it was cute. Tyler sang pretty loud, on one song they would yell bang, Tyler yelled so loud his teacher kept telling him to keep it down. He had a lot of fun at preschool, we will both miss it. My kid is the short one imagine that.

Only one day left of Preschool. I'm very sad, Tyler has enjoyed his class so much. I created a little scrap book for his two teachers, it turned out cute. Each child in his class colored a picture, and said why he/she liked their teacher. I hope his teacher will like it.

Tuesday was hat day at preschool. Mike was nice enough to let Tyler wear one of his golf visors. Tyler thought he was hot stuff. I think he looks pretty cute, a little mini Mike.

Sunday was a nice day for flying a kite, just enough breeze, unfortunately our kite was cheep and only made it in the air one time. The boys thought it was fun, and really cool. Since then Mike bought us a better kite, now we need a cool breeze.

The following picture is very nerdy but I like it, it makes me smile and laugh. Tyler is such a happy child, I love his sweet content spirit. This photo was taken a couple of weeks ago, our pool is still cold, but that doesn't stop Tyler from jumping in.This is as far a Jack wanted to get in the water. Maybe in time he will learn to love the water like Tyler. As for now the only water he wants to get in is bath tub water, and even that can be a fight at times.

Arizona Skies

I must say Arizona has some of the most beautiful skies. The majority of the time Az has sunny blue skies, these skies are great and never seem to get boring. Sunsets and sunrises in Az can take your breath away with the bright colors found in the sky. Rainy skies in Az are also very beautiful, we enjoy some of the best lighting storms I have ever seen, and frequently after a storm (which usually only last about an hour or so) the sun returns and creates a beautiful rainbow. Yes, Az has the most beautiful skies.
