Grandma's & Grandpa's Visit

Grandma & Grandpa Harrison came to visit last weekend. We had a great time canning apples, knocking holes in closets, and camping. On Thursday we started our day off canning apples. It was lots of fun, everyone got involved and it only took us a few hours to can all the apples -- about 2 dozen jars all together. Tyler and Jack even helped out. Tyler loved using the slicer; he thought that was the coolest machine ever. After canning apples, I put Grandpa to work knocking a hole in our coat closet, which revealed additional closet space under the stair landing. We drywalled the area, installed a light, and put molding up around the opening.

Friday we went camping in Payson. Grandpa's cousin Eric Levi and his family joined us too. Camping was a little cold but we all had a great time. I don't know if my boys have ever been so dirty. We roasted hot dogs, went hiking, and fishing. Tyler's and Jack's first camping experience was great.

Grandmas are such great teachers.

Roasting hot dogs Friday night.

Beautiful mountain morning, nice and cold.

Above, Tyler and Jack found a moth to admire and annoy. Below Jack in our new tent.

Grandpa and his cousin Eric getting ready to play horseshoes.

Tyler made a new friend, Mackenzie. They had lots of fun playing together.

Morning marshmellows.

Grandma was nice enough to hike with Jack; he was a little slower then the rest of the group.

Tyler caught his first fish at Woods Canyon Lake.

Tyler was worried the bugs would eat the fish and didn't want to leave it in the water after catching it.

Me and my fantastic Mom.

Nap time for Jack. I guess the rock was a comfortable spot.

It was a great weekend. I learned so much and really enjoyed having my parents around. They are awesome.
