World's Best Mom & Grandma

Well I know it's not quite Mother's Day, but as I was rocking my little Tyler to sleep tonight and I couldn't help but think of my mother. I have the world's best mother. I know this is what everyone says, but she has been the best mom for me. Mom you have taught me so much. You have helped to mold me into who I am today. You taught me patience. I can rarely remember you losing your patience (except for throwing a cup at my head once, but I did instigate that). You are kind and non judgmental. I have never heard you judge another. You are always kind and tolerant of others. You are faithful. You have always had faith, and have shown me how to act on faith. You are obedient, as grandma Sal says, you have never done anything wrong. You are like a rock, I have never seen you do anything unworthy of a mother (except call David a little shit). You are creative and talented. Thanks for always sewing for us, from barbie clothes to prom dresses you were always willing to spend your time and talents helping us. Thanks for helping to teach me your talents as well. You are a comforter. I can remember when I was a child, at times I had a hard day at school, you would rock me in the orange rocker. I always felt so much better about life when you would hold me. Even now, I call you when I just need someone to listen to me. You are positive. Thanks for having such a positive outlook on life. You always told us that we choose our attitude. Thanks for showing us how to chose wisely. You are a family cook. I say family because I can remember as a child you always managed to cook dinner for the family. We always ate together as a family. I realize this is no small task. You are a friend. Thanks for being a friend. You are someone I can confide in, someone I can talk to when I need someone, someone to teach, and share. I could go on-and-on but I think the other blog readers are getting sick of me. I just want everyone to know how great you are. I LOVE YOU MOM!! thanks for helping me become who I am.
What a great Grandma, always willing to help with the rascals even when they are sick and teething.

Yesterday we went and rode the train, and carousel. Tyler was so excited to ride the carousel, but once riding it, he wasn't too sure he liked it. Tyler while riding the carousel.
Tyler before riding carousel.
Two boys sooo excited about riding on a train. Toot! Toot!

Jacks first time playing in the sand at the park. Needless to say he ate dirt several times. Loved every minute of it.

I had to scrub his scalp to get all the sand out of his hair.

This is my latest project. I have wanted to recover this bench cusion since I purchased it a few months ago. Heather told me about a great store called Tempe Sales, you can get fabric there for dirt cheap. So here it is my finished masterpeice. I think it looks great. It was a great learning experience too. First for sewing piping, first for sewing a zipper in something. The zipper turned out par, piping great. Need a little demo on the zipper mom.

See My New Mural Blog. Go to my complete profile. Julianne's murals
Today we went to the fire station with the Mom's club. It was lots of fun. Tyler loved it, he climbed on the trucks, and tried climbing the fire pole. Jack was a good boy too.

Love the eyes! Focus Tyler focus.

Tyler thinks he is so cool because he is standing next to the fireman.

When the kids were aloud to climb in the trucks Tyler went right up to cockpit and sat shotgun. After he sat down he didn't want to move. That was his new seat. He probably sat there for about 5 min..

cookie monster Tyler Max.

Am I the only one who craves things like chocolate chip cookies? When I was working this wasn't such a big deal, but now that I am home with the kids I can indulge my desires. I find myself making cookies, eating two or three spoon fulls of dough, and then eating almost a whole sheet of them after they are cooked. Not only that but then Tyler digs in too, and then he is buzzing around from the sugar. I just can't help myself though, they are soooooo good. Especially when they are fresh from the oven.

Once a week we go to soccer. Tyler loves it, and is actually getting better at playing. This week Mike was able to come play. Tyler loved having him there to watch and play. After soccer we headed over to the park and played. Mike pushed the boys on the swings and they loved it.

These are the Reasons we love living in Arizona! (not in Order)

1-Where else could you have a view like this from your backyard. We have it all the golf course, a pool, grass, a waterfall. Its perfect.

2-It's is sunny here every day! Even on the days that it rains the sun comes out.

3- Year round golfing for Mike and Tyler. Granted in the summer you have to get up early or sweat it out, but you can still go.

4-It is beautiful. It may not be lush and green, but the desert has its own beauty. I love the bright colors of the bogaveas, and lantanas, and palm trees sound awesome in the wind.

5-In the spring you can smell the citrus, and jasmine trees, they are intoxicating.

6-The sunsets here are so colorful. They take your breath away. I love to walk the boys in the evenings so we can enjoy all the bright colors in the sky.

7-NO SNOW!! We never have to shovel snow, wear heavy coats, worry about getting snow in our shoes, or getting in a car accident on the way to work.

8- Because there is no snow, you can wear sexy little sandals all year long.

9- We have great shopping! Lots of unique stores.

10- Great food. You can get some of the most authentic Mexican food here. Downtown is full of tasty Mom and Pop places to eat.

11- There are people from all over the country here. It is almost rare to find a native Arizonan. I like the diversity.

12-We have met some awesome people and made some fabulous friends here.

13- We have great pro. sports teams. Mike loves the Suns. What a great team!!

14-We can go swimming year round (if the pool is heated).

15-There is a lot of recreational activities to do hiking, biking, swimming, boating, Salt river tubing, climbing, golfing, horseback riding, tennis etc.... you can do almost all of these year round.

Well those are some of the reasons we love it here and don't want to ever leave. Have I convinced you to stay, visit or move?

I have the most handsome boys in all the world. They are so cute in their Sunday best. Gotta love the hand me downs. (thanks Christianne, and Carol)

Ok these are my 3 shames. Don't hold them against me. Oh yea and keep them a secret ha ha.

Shame #1: I wear hand me downs and I'm 29 yrs old. That's right I wear hand me down clothes from friends co-workers siblings etc.. I know its kinda like getting clothes from the second hand store but I don't mind at all. The best part is that Mike tends to think my second hand clothes are cuter on me then the ones I purchase. (until recently thanks to Heather) So if you are small and have some clothes you no longer like send them to my house I'll see what fits me.
Another shame in regards to my wardrobe, is that I have in the past shopped in the children's department. Yes that's right I have shopped for myself at Limited Two.

Shame # 2: I have an obsession with teeth. I can't help but look at them. I guess its all those years as an ortho assistant. I find myself checking out peoples teeth, and plotting on what they could do to improve them. It bothers me when I see someone with a bad crown or bridge, one that is very noticeable. I can understand it most of the time, but someone who is famous and has the money should definitely do something about it. I know Tom Cruise got Invisalign. His mid line is still off, and look at his lower teeth. Sorry I know I'm crazy. So if you notice me looking at your mouth instead of your eyes while we are talking its just because I love to look at teeth. I know its strange.

shame #3: For years I have hated eating here. For whatever reason kids seem to be drawn to this place, and so it happens that Tyler wants to eat here on a regular basis. I know it is quite gross but now I find myself enjoying this food even craving it sometimes ahhh. That's right I like McDonald's but only their Big Macs, fries and beverages. Most of the other sandwiches I have tried do nothing for me. I know scary and very unhealth

Today was an exciting day for Tyler. He got his first set of clubs. When we went to the golf store he could hardly contain himself. You could just see the excitement in his little body. Like a kid in a candy store. He wanted to touch everything and try out all the clubs. There was an area of the store with a driving range and some sand, other kids were playing in the sand, but not Tyler he wanted to smack balls on the driving range.

These are his new clubs. Mike took the family to the range to hit balls. We all had a good time.

Even Jack enjoyed himself. Crawling around on the grass, and getting into Tyler's basket of balls. (Tyler didn't like that much)

Coach Mike is great at helping Tyler. I love to watch the two of them hitting balls together, its so cute.
